Llangeinor have had a good couple of results in the capital to start off their campaign for this season. Tonights game saw us missing Craig Hopkins and Carl Pugh through 1 match suspensions. In came youngsters Kyle Owen and Josh Ellis and both 16 year olds were tremendous. Llan got the breakthrough after just 5 minutes when young Damian Barnard was through and rounded the keeper only to be brought down. For some reason the referee only saw fit to award a penalty. Up stepped Ryan Blanche to open his account for the season. With the forced changes the back 4 of Chris Hinam, Carl Lewis, Kyle Owen & Damian Roberts were solid and confident. Llan went further infront when Barnard scored the second on 28 minutes. The front pairing of Barnard and Kevin Kelland were a potent force, and look to be settling in well together. The quality playing surface meant that Llan were able to play some quality football, with most of it played out of defence.

UWIC pulled a goal back on 47 minutes, but Llan continued to press. On 60 minutes Llan lost captain Damian Robberts for saying something out of place. A quick re-shuffle of the ranks was the order of the day and on 65 minutes young Josh Ellis was replaced by Anthony Elwood to try and bolster the middle of the park. Rhys owen and Craig Davies put in another 5 star performances, and worked tirelessly. Once again on 80 minutes Barnard's pace was too much for the UWIC defence and again he rounded the keeper only to be brought down for a second time. Amazingly again only a penalty was the punishment, when it looked like the keeper would have to go. !!!!. Up stepped Blanche to make it 3 - 1 to Llan but he had to knock in the rebound to make it count. Nigel Rose replaced Kevin Kelland up front on 83 minutes but Llan held out for another 10 minutes to record their first victory over the students. Steve John in the Llan goal is growing in confidence and put in another fine performance.
